BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Marsh completes Alexander Forbes deal

Marsh Inc. has completed its acquisition of the brokerage business of Alexander Forbes Ltd., the Marsh & McLennan Cos. unit announced Wednesday.

The deal, which was announced in August, includes acquisition of Alexander Forbes' South African brokerage operations, its risk services arm and its insurance brokerage operations in Botswana and Namibia.

Marsh said it also would acquire Alexander Forbes' local operations in Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Uganda and Zambia.

Those transactions are expected to close during the first quarter of 2012, subject to regulatory approval, Marsh said.
